Experiencia negativa: Choosing Angela at An Event Lady Production as our wedding planner was the absolute worst decision we made during our entire planning process. We initially met her at a wedding show, where she presented a polished setup and seemed extremely knowledgeable. However, after hiring her and paying a deposit, things quickly went downhill in our opinion. Her email responses slowed dramatically, and I ended up doing a significant amount of the work myself. Multiple vendors and venues told us they couldn’t get in touch with her, delaying progress. Our first open house with her was delayed by an hour due to her having a meeting with her family, and our last set of venue tours was an utter disaster. She failed to confirm two tours, causing us to show up to venues only to find no one there to meet us. One tour, we drove over an hour to attend, only to learn she hadn’t confirmed the time. The last tour we took was equally bad—no one showed up, and Angela’s response was that we needed to handle it ourselves, saying it was “too much” for her to deal with. This was after we hired her for a $6,200 for a full-service planning package! Angela’s rates were far higher than other planners we saw on venue preferred lists, and strangely, I never saw her name on any list at any of the venues we toured. After several frustrating conversations, we sent her a formal list of our concerns. In return, she terminated the contract and kept the $1,400 we had already paid—for nothing. After two months of working with her, we had no venue, no photographer, and no videographer. To top it off, Angela had listed our budget as $65,000 (we told her $30,000 at our initial consultation). When we asked about the discrepancy, she said, “I thought you would change your mind.” It felt like she didn’t care about our actual budget or wedding vision at all. We should’ve done more research. Angela did offer us some money back after we shared our experience while on a venue tour, but we would have been required to sign an NDA and unable to share our experience. We felt that Of her 17 Google reviews that were listed when we initially checked Google, 6 were from industry professionals, one was for a baby shower, and the rest were years old. After I posted my review, several new reviews popped up. They all appeared within days of each other, and they were all positive. If you’re considering Angela, I strongly suggest you do your due diligence. I’ve attached photos to this review so that couples can compare the screenshots to the company’s response.

As a wedding planner with over 8 years of experience, I am committed to delivering high-touch, personalized service to every couple I serve. In your case, I invested over 60 hours of hands-on planning—including venue research, multiple 2–4 hour tours across 8 venues, and detailed consultations—all tailored to the direction and preferences you initially shared.
Your stated budget shifted several times during our planning conversations, and I have documented communication that reflects an agreed working budget of $45,000–$50,000, not the $30,000 referenced here. While I always advocate for client vision, it is equally my responsibility to ensure realistic alignment between budget and expectations.
When I realized our communication styles and expectations were no longer a good fit, I made the difficult but professional decision to step away. This was not done lightly, and in fact, it was the first time in my career I’ve had to remove myself from a planning agreement. I even offered a partial refund, with a standard NDA to respectfully close the relationship—not to prevent your feedback, but to ensure mutual confidentiality.
To future couples reading this: I stand behind my work, my ethics, and my dedication to excellence. Planning a wedding is deeply personal, and while not every partnership is the right one, I will always prioritize your experience and peace of mind. Experiencia fantástica: We couldn't have made it through planning our wedding and our wedding day without Angela at An Event Lady Production! My now-husband and I have very busy lives and don't live in the Raleigh area, so we knew we needed a planner for our wedding. When I first was looking for a planner, I did several consultations and wasn't having any luck finding a planner who I clicked with. As soon as I did my consultation with Angela, I knew she would be the one to help us plan our big day. She accommodated our busy lives throughout the planning process, but also kept us on track when we needed to move more quickly. Some of my friends who have recently gotten married have complained that their planners were not as helpful as they wished, but this couldn't be farther from the truth with Angela. She went above and beyond every step of the way to make sure that I had what I needed in the planning process. She level set with me when I needed to be more realistic, she resolved issues with vendors when they arose, and overall she just removed a lot of stress from the planning process. I always felt like she had my back, particularly in the few weeks before the wedding, which can be the most stressful. Whenever Angela and I were in planning or vendor meetings, she devoted 150% of her attention to me and always made me feel like her most important client. Importantly, she also kept vendors on track and honest, which I really valued during the planning process. On our wedding day, she made sure that my husband I were not worried about any of the details, which was really important to me. I wish my husband and I could do our wedding over again, and if we did, there is no question I would use Angela and An Event Lady Production to help us!
