Negative experience: Our experience with CODA Events was deeply disappointing. From the start, the planning process was riddled with disorganization and a lack of transparency. We were repeatedly misled about whether they had communicated with vendors, and we received no reassurance during critical moments. Midway through planning, our coordinator Charley relocated to Australia without informing us when we initially booked her services and the time difference made communication nearly impossible. When a serious family health diagnosis forced us to cancel our wedding, CODA remained inflexible and continued to pursue payment, despite the circumstances. In contrast, other vendors showed compassion and refunded us generously. The lack of empathy and professionalism from CODA left us feeling frustrated and unsupported during an already difficult time. Avoid the stress look elsewhere for your event planning needs.

Their professionalism, organization, and attention to detail were exceptional. Every aspect of the wedding was executed beautifully, making the day seamless for everyone involved.

Fantastic experience: Charley and the team at Coda's literally made our wedding happen. Full stop. When my wife and I first got engaged, I delusionally thought I could plan a chill wedding on my own -- you just need a venue, food, a photographer, and some flowers, right? Twelve hours and 27 tabs of florists later, I realized the error of my ways. An effortlessly chill wedding is in fact, A LOT of effort. We had already hired a photographer and booked our reception venue when we reached out to Charley, and she jumped right in without missing a beat. Charley's greatest assets are her organization (so many spreadsheets!), her ability to stay on top of vendors who are not always as organized as she is, her desire to create a wedding personalized to each couple, and her TEAM. When you hire Coda you don't just get Charley, but Emiliana, Loren, Maggie-- sometimes even Charley's mom! Everyone we worked with was so kind and just as organized and capable as Charley. In the end we had a beautiful wedding weekend that felt totally reflective of us as a couple. And if anything went wrong, I didn't know about it, because Charley and her team handled it before I could ever find out. Thank you Coda's!!

Fantastic experience: I was a guest at my friend's wedding organized by Coda's and oh my wow what a night. Every single aspect from the timing and coordination to the overall design of the ceremony and reception was exactly what you would expect from a luxury wedding and more. The coordinator was super friendly and made sure the whole night went exactly as planned. The bride and groom seemed carefree as they danced the night away knowing everything was taken care of. I definitely will be using Coda's to plan my wedding!

Fantastic experience: Ahh, Charley. She’s just the best. Professional, kind, and a BOSS. I trusted her instantly with my vision and even when the world turned on its head…she still made it happen. Even better than I could have imagined. Trust me when I say that the unexpected will happen on your wedding day. Having that person there to tell you it will all be okay is priceless. We had this incredible wedding planned at Wild Carrot for the end of March, then COVID-19 happened. As the date got closer we realized we were going to have to change our plans. We knew we wanted to get married and Charley made it happen overnight. Literally. She swooped in with her calming nature and gave us the wedding we never knew we wanted. All after working the night shift working on the frontline at her hospital job. We decided to elope at an Airbnb. We loved the house didn’t know how to make it feel like our wedding. Charley made sure it did. She came in with her calming nature and transformed the dining room into the most beautiful ceremony space with candles and florals. The florals were from Roses and Mint..one of the most talented florists in St. Louis. She contacted them when we sprung the wedding on her the day before and got us the most beautiful collection of florals from them. She picked up Mission Taco so we didn’t have to worry about food and even surprised us with macarons from her friend Abby at Spoil Me Sweetly. They were delicious. She knew how important it was to share our special day with family and friends so she set up a Facebook page for our wedding and streamed the ceremony live. There are countless other things she did to make our day perfect but I can’t possibly list them all. I would recommend Coda’s Events confidently for any event because I know Charley will make it her mission to make your vision come true. Even if you don’t know what that is yet. She is intuitive and talented making her an incredible asset to this industry and anyone who hires her.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Coda's Events for my wedding on 9.24.22! They were incredibly detail-oriented, adding a special touch to every aspect. The team's fun and positive energy added to the joy of the day. Their meticulous planning ensured that everything ran smoothly. Charley especially understood the assignment. She got my vision and vibe right from the start. Highly recommend Coda's Events for a memorable and stress-free wedding!

Negative experience: TL;DR: Inflexible owner, kept our 25% deposit even though the coordinator potentially breached contract by planning to move across the world, potentially prior to our contracted date. Find another company... My fiancée was friends with the owner, Charley, from their time working together previously. We booked a month-of wedding planning package with Charley to support her new business. Months later, we found out via social media that she’s planning to move to Australia. Since she may not be able to fulfill her end of the contract, we asked that she simply voids it and refunds us, or that she re-assign us to another coordinator at a reduced price, since the whole reason we picked Coda’s (and frankly overpaid) was for Charley. We didn’t want uncertainty leading up to the wedding in case she actually moved and we then have to panic last minute to find a replacement. If she hadn’t announced she’s planning on moving, we never would’ve asked to get out of this contract. She responded that she hasn’t fully committed to moving before our wedding and that she prefers to keep her personal life and work life separated. She said if we wanted out of the contract it wasn’t because of her actions, but it would be us terminating it. (When you own a business and are contracted to provide services, you don’t get the luxury of keeping your personal and business life separate, especially when it means quite literally moving across the world.) We had paid 50% of the contract. When asked for a refund, she cited her boilerplate contract saying the initial 25% payment was non-refundable, but would refund the second 25% payment (which took 9 weeks, 5 emails, and a call from us to finally receive). I asked her to set legality aside and do the fair thing. She took us out to an initial dinner and had an employee book our information into their system, but no wedding planning services have been rendered (and she actually bailed on us on the one venue walkthrough we had scheduled). I wanted to compensate her for the dinner and their time, and offered they keep a few hundred dollars, which she declined and said she was keeping it all. Our wedding isn’t until October, so with about 8-9 months to plan in advance at the time, I am fully confident they would’ve be able to find a replacement client for that date. Trying to find a fair resolution was like arguing with a wall. She was so focused on the contract saying the deposit was non-refundable, so in her world, she felt entitled to that money. Legally, maybe she didn’t do anything wrong, but this situation was completely brought upon us by her, and if the roles were reversed, I wouldn’t want to take advantage of my clients the way she took advantage of us. I was sick of arguing with her, getting nowhere, and running out of time as the contract said if we don't cancel 6 months in advance of the date she could keep it all payments, which I know she would have. So we agreed to terminate the contract and she eventually refunded us the second payment, but kept the initial $875 payment. I will strongly warn any potential customers that this is how she treated a friend and you should look for another company to coordinate your wedding/event. If any issues arise leading up to your event, even issues they bring upon you, they will not try for a split second to work with you towards a fair resolution, and that’s just not the kind of person/company I want to work with and support.

Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Solo Trip to California!** I recently booked a solo trip to California with Coda's Travel, and the experience was amazing! The team took the time to understand my interests and crafted a personalized itinerary that included must-see attractions and hidden gems. Their recommendations were spot-on, from scenic routes to cool coffee shops and serene hiking trails. The accommodations were fantastic, and all travel arrangements were smooth and convenient. Communication was excellent throughout my trip. The support from Coda's Travel gave me peace of mind and allowed me to fully enjoy my adventure. My solo trip to California was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had, thanks to Coda's Travel. I highly recommend them for any travel needs and can’t wait to book my next trip with them! Fantastic experience: We hired Coda’s Events for the absolute package for my April 2024 wedding and it was the best decision we could’ve made as a couple and for our wedding. We were totally clueless about what it takes to plan a wedding and Coda’s came in with the right questions about how we envisioned our wedding and presented options that fulfilled this vision. Coda’s team gave us a specific timeline and action items every few months that helped us understand what we should be doing, all while handling all vendor communication and executing design and logistics on the backend. Come wedding day, Emiliana truly was an angel – from running the rehearsal to running between groomsmen and bridal suite to making sure everything was set up and on time. Everything was perfect and I will recommend Coda’s to anyone who will listen.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Coda's Events; I recommend them to every bride I know. I booked the Peace of Mind package, and it was one of the most valuable things we spent money on for our big day. Emiliana was our Lead Coordinator, and when I say she was an angel, I mean it with my whole heart. If something went wrong on our wedding day, we don't know about it, and that speaks to the value of the Peace of Mind package and the wonderful, skilled staff of Coda's. With the Peace of Mind package, I started meeting on a monthly basis 6 months out with Emiliana, who was a great help in ensuring I was on track and getting the things needed done. Since I had a long engagement and was anxious to make sure I was on track before we started the monthly meetings, I also did a Stellas and Chat with Emiliana before my 6mo meeting, where she gave me some ideas to make the wedding feel more personal to us (one of her ideas ended up being one of our favorite moments of the day). Once Emiliana took over month-of with vendor coordination, she discovered that I missed a key detail in my catering contract. She was able to help resolve the issue quickly with the caterer, and everything went to plan. Thank you, Emiliana, for going above and beyond to make our day perfect. It was truly the most magical day of our lives, thanks to you! <3

Fantastic experience: I could not have asked for a better or more genuine wedding planner to ensure that we enjoyed a wedding true to ourselves! Emiliana thought of everything so that my husband and I could savor the moments of the day. She helped to create such a meaningful event for us, from seamlessly coordinating with all of our vendors to securing appetizers and signature drinks for us at cocktail hour. Fantastic experience: My wedding was about a month ago and I can’t say better things about Coda’s Events!! There was so much clear and consistent communication before, during and after the wedding that it made my planning experience SO much easier! They were at the venue BEFORE me the day of getting things prepped and coordinating with vendors. The team did store runs, helped with timeline changes, outfit changes and so much more. I left the creative design up to them as well and they KILLED IT! My husband and I are so grateful for them and the care they showed not only us but our close friends and family! We’ve even received compliments from some vendors on their professionalism - it doesn’t get better than that! Negative experience: I was the Matron of Honor. This particular wedding coordinator was very unfriendly. She told the bride she would be at the venue to help decorate she did not show up nor communicate that she was not coming, she also was not present for the rehearsal nor communicated that she would not be present.When she walked into the bridal hotel room she did not introduce herself at all. When at the wedding venue she did not come into the bridal suite to make sure things were ok at all. She didn’t speak to any of the bridal party. We, the bridesmaids, carried the boxes of all the floral to the venue. Could you imagine you’re all dolled up caring heavy boxes of floral arrangements. When I asked her if she’s able to take the wedding bouquets out of the water and wipe them off so we wouldn’t have water on our dresses, she just starred at me as if I didn’t say anything. So the bridal party took care of it. Her appearance on the day of the wedding was HORRENDOUS, not professionally dressed at all. She was wear UGG slippers with water stains all over them, black pants, a pull over brown dingy hoody and her hair appeared to be unkept. I’m not sure how she got 5 stars with others but she was pretty much nonexistent with our wedding party. THANKFULLY the photographers ended up coordinating everything and they were an absolute delight! If you want wonderful photography, with delightful people, that take the time to learn your name, & comes dressed professionally check out Ivy Bell & Company in the St. Louis area.

Fantastic experience: We can’t imagine our wedding without Charley and Coda’s Events! She was incredible at every part of planning the day. She was so creative in her big picture thinking about how to make the day unique and fun and definitely ours. But she was also cool under pressure and able to make all the small stuff happen smoothly, and we knew we didn’t need to worry should anything go wrong during the big day. Charley and her team would handle it. Her recommendations for other vendors were also spot on, and she was always available for thoughtful advice and reassurance. We were so pleased with her work on our wedding that we also asked her to plan our welcome party. She blew us away with her ability to balance all of the details, while helping us feel calm and cool at every event—even going so far as to pick up the spread for us prior to our farewell brunch. The way she flawlessly executed every task and fulfilled every wish showed us what a kind, thoughtful person she is, and made us feel so thankful that we found her in the first place. We have gotten so many compliments about all the details of the wedding, and so much of that was because Charley and her team were able to take any tiny kernel of an idea from us and turn it into something really special. Hiring Coda’s Events was one of the best decisions we made!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about the whole Coda’s team. We almost did not hire a day of planner and I cannot imagine not having them there to help with everything. They truly went above and beyond throughout our entire wedding planning process to make our day special. Not only are they super organized and efficient, they are the sweetest people you could ever meet. We had to move our ceremony inside at the last minute due to weather and Morgan was on top of it the entire time keeping us updated and making sure things ran smoothly. Fantastic experience: My daughter got married Oct. 22, 2022. We had the majority of the wedding planned by the time I reached out for help. Our primary need was a coordinator for the wedding day itself. My first encounter with Coda Events was a return phone call from the founder, Charley. She was upbeat, energetic, professional, and clearly loved helping organize events. At that point I had probably been in touch with four other wedding planners and I just had a good feeling about Charley and the kind of work she did. I went with their “Peace of Mind “ wedding day coordinator. I was assigned to Emiliana. We LOVED her. From start to finish Emiliana listened, took great notes and didn’t miss anything. I booked her Peace of Mind package but it was so much more than just that. She was always available to answer my questions via email/text, & gave me such great advice as I was booking my vendors. Fantastic experience: Charley was extremely helpful from start to finish. We utilized her day-of/Peace of Mind service, but she did so much more than just helping us on our big day. There were frequent check ins and updates to make sure that we were on track. Any time I had a question, Charley was prompt about sending me multiple resources to help along the way, as well as contacting vendors when needed. We met with her in person to iron out the details and get our image laid out on paper. Out of everything we did for our wedding day, having a coordinator was definitely one of the best decisions. It took the stress off of our families so that everyone was able to enjoy themselves. It also gave me peace of mind knowing Charley had the floor plans and layout specifics and could be the designated point of contact. The whole team at Coda’s Events brought our image to life and kept the stress off of us. Charley also did a phenomenal job of making sure we had water and anything else we needed throughout the day. Fantastic experience: It is hard to put into words how wonderful Charley and her team are!! I used Coda's events for my wedding in January 2022 and am SO glad that I did. Charle was extremely responsive and always willing to give opinions and helpful tips. She was patient with me and listened to my ideas. She gave me suggestions and connected me with vendors that fit my vision. She was present during rehearsal and answered any questions the bridal party had. She made a helpful timeline to keep everyone on track! On the day of Charley and Haley were with me the whole day and literally took care of everything. Nothing went wrong the entire day or if it did I didn't know about it! They kept everything on schedule and were very attentive to myself and my family. I was never without a drink and they both checked in with me and my family frequently to see if we needed anything. They were helpful in clean up and packed up all of our decor and stored it for me until the next day. Multiple guests commented on how impressed they were with Charley and her team. If I could give Coda's 10 stars I would! I can't say enough good things about Charley and would definitely recommend booking Charley ASAP if you are at any point of the wedding planning process!

Fantastic experience: Charley and her assistants Abby and Alyssa made my wedding day a dream. I was always hesitant about hiring a planner for my wedding, but it is SO needed (no matter how organized you think you are). The wedding day would not have been as smooth without her team. They made sure my husband and I ate (and drank plenty of water among other things) and that it was so perfectly decorated and on time. Very much worth it and they were amazing!

Fantastic experience: We hired Coda's Events to help plan and coordinate our wedding on 3/20/21 - and it was the best decision we made! I truly enjoyed getting to know Charley and the team at Coda's events. I came out of the experience feeling like I had a close friend by my side and helping me through my wedding day! I was not exactly thrilled about planning a wedding, especially during COVID, but having Charley by my side made the experience enjoyable and so simple. If I was overwhelmed or stressed she was there to help me through it and always made me feel at ease. I was never very certain on what exactly I wanted, but Charley would give me options and guide me through the process so effortlessly. She was calm and easy-going which made me feel relaxed and like there was nothing to stress about. While there really weren't many things that went wrong (thanks to Coda's), if something did I would not have worried at all because Charley would have it covered. Fantastic experience: Charley and her team (Ashely + Sarah) are the most amazing people to work with in planning our wedding. We used the Peace of Mind Package for full day of coordination. Charley met us approximately one month before our date and tied everything together. Charley and her team saw our vision, immediately gave us great suggestions, and were so accommodating to make sure we have everything set. I feel like they provided more than just a day of coordinating for the amount of dedication and investment they had in our wedding to make it special. Charley knows how to get things done and stay organized. Ashely pays attention to every detail and gives great suggestions. Sarah, I met the day of the wedding and she was so friendly, warm, and made me feel less nervous prior to walking into the church. This team does extraordinary work.

Fantastic experience: Charley did an amazing job planning my friends bachelorette party. She had every detail planned out, and the entire weekend went so smoothly. The decorations she put together for the event were gorgeous, and the the party favors were perfect. She stuck to the budget I arranged with her, did an amazing job setting up and taking down the event, and made sure everyone enjoyed the weekend and that there were no problems. I loved planning this bachelorette party with Charley, and I would recommend her to anyone.
