Experiencia fantástica: To say that White Cat planners went above and beyond to put my daughters wedding together is putting it lightly! I had to call Shelby last minute because my previous planner canceled on me about 3 weeks before the wedding and I called her in a panic and we were lucky that she had that day available! From that point forward I put her in contact with my daughter and she brought her vision to life better than any of us could have hoped for. On the day of the wedding she not only took care of all the flower arrangements and coordination with the other vendors but she was there for us throughout the entire event, even helping us put things in our vehicles! She was phenomenal and I honestly don't know if we could've pulled it off without her being available!

There was a reflecting pond at our venue that I wasn’t crazy about, and she came up with the idea to cover it with the dance floor and make it the center of the entire evening. The only hard thing about working with White Cat is if you're an anxious person (like me) then you have a hard time wrapping your head around how LITTLE she needs from you in order to make your vision and dreams come to life. From Day 1, Shelby was not only incredibly organized, thoughtful, and detail-oriented, but she had a vision for our day that went beyond my wildest expectations. Shelby took all my indecision and worries in stride, talked me off a ledge more than a few times, and even brought lunch and made dinner for my fiancé and I. She has truly become a dear friend during this process and that is something you won’t find anywhere else. The storms were relentless on my wedding day and our rain plan was far more gorgeous than I could have imagined… but by the grace of God the sun came out an hour before guest arrived. Experiencia fantástica: We thought we had this all under control. We thought we had plenty of time. We thought way too much. It was stressing us out. We were drowning and out of time. There was no saving this. Then in a moment of kismet, Shelby sauntered like a cat into our lives. With very limited time, Shelby coordinated all of the vendors. She created a floor plan. She created a timeline. She brought back our sanity. We breathed a collective sigh of relief. From then on, every worry, decision, or speculation was answered with “I don’t know, Shelby will handle it”. She did. At the ceremony and reception we didn’t worry about anything. We just did whatever Shelby told us to do. Go where she directed. Spoke when she said speak. Dance when she said dance. She made our event the celebration it was meant to be. It was magical. I forgot to mention that this was planned as an outdoor wedding. It rained. It stormed. Shelby moved it inside. The skies cleared. Shelby and her team moved it back outside. Did I mention that it was magical?

With both of us working stressful jobs in the healthcare world, having Shelby in our corner helped make our wedding the most perfect day imaginable, while reducing the stresses of planning as much as possible. The team transported all of our decor to and from the venue for us (2 hours away), handled communication with vendors, and made our wedding day a breeze. We were unaware of any day-of obstacles because White Cat Wedding staff took care of everything with ease. We were able to focus on each other and our special moments instead of stressing about the details. They handled everything beautifully and we couldn’t have had a better experience.

Experiencia fantástica: If you want to make your wedding dreams a reality, I highly recommend Shelby and White Cat Weddings & Events. I came across Shelby and WCW by happenstance as they were recommended by the venue my now-husband and I wanted for our wedding. Their list of recommendations was short and their standards were high. I recognized a few couples on the White Cat Weddings website, had even attended one of the weddings, and instantly knew we would be in good hands. That being said, even my high expectations were beyond exceeded. (We didn’t actually choose the original venue but were thankful they led us to WCW.) Shelby not only made our vision a reality, she exponentially improved it. She was able to create a cohesive design across multiple venues. And not only were the florals (OMG I cannot even tell you how many compliments we are STILL getting on the florals WCW did) and design cohesive, but the flow of the entire wedding day was. Throughout the planning process, any time I came to Shelby with a problem, she had already solved it or had a solution. She kept me on task, let us be as involved (or uninvolved) as we wanted, and somehow made the stressful task of planning a wedding incredibly fun. She gave us honest opinions and brought to the table an experienced professional knowledge of how to make our day amazing as well as a rolodex (figurative) of other consummate professionals within the industry. The team of vendors she helped curate were incredible, kind, talented people that we were honored to have as part of our celebration. Beyond all of this, myself, my husband, our friends and family did nothing but celebrate our love and marriage our entire wedding day because Shelby and the WCW team had literally everything else handled. Shelby and her team did an amazing job making my vision a reality and executed it perfectly, even in just a month! Shelby pays attention to the details that really help tie all of the decor elements together. Even with my very short timeline (1 month prior to the party), Shelby was able to get everything I wanted, including a custom swing. She is great at problem solving and will find a solution to any logistical/venue obstacles to ensure you get all the design aspects you desire. Experiencia fantástica: Run don’t walk to book Shelby. I cant put into words how amazing she was throughout the entire wedding planning process. We had about a year and a half engagement and over that time Shelby was always so responsive (even when I would text after hours or on weekends with one-off questions) making the process so much fun and stress-free. Shelby also helped with the design portion of our wedding and I was absolutely blown away by how she brought my vision together. It was the most stunning day! When initially looking for a planner, I wanted someone reliable, easy-going, and really just fun to work with and Shelby is all of those things and more. So much so, I gained not only a bomb wedding planner, but also a friend. I would recommend Shelby to anyone and everyone for planning, florals, and as someone experienced and amazing to work with! Her talent and work ethic is unmatched and we are so so grateful to Shelby and her team for making our day the most beautiful!

Experiencia fantástica: First and foremost, Shelby is an absolute GEM of human being and so easy (and fun!) to work with. Her professionalism and expertise as a wedding planner/coordinator just sweeten the deal!! I was the *most* indecisive bride and was immediately overwhelmed by the wedding planning process. I hired Shelby for all of her services because I NEEDED them all, and I can honestly say it was the best money I spent on the entire wedding — not exaggerating. I never felt pressured by her to do things one way or another, which I really appreciated. Like most brides, I received a lot of unsolicited advice and opinions from others, but Shelby is whatever *you* need her to be— a sounding board, a facilitator, or, if you’re like me and need this, she can be the decision-maker, too!! I didn’t start with a “vision” for my wedding, so I leaned on Shelby considerably for her input. She has an eye for elegance and style and she knocked everything out of the park! I can’t even take credit for many of the little special details on my wedding day because Shelby thought of and executed it all!! Shelby helped me through every decision, considered every single detail, and was conscious of my budget every step of the way. I’m typically a procrastinator, so the detailed timeline she established kept me on track and accountable for getting things done. I can’t begin to tell you how essential this is when trying to nail down multiple vendors/contracts/payments in a timely manner. She was very patient with me! Perhaps Shelby’s most valuable asset is her “know-how” in the Central KY wedding industry. I had no idea how to parse down the endless list of local/regional wedding vendors, but Shelby has first-hand knowledge and established relationships with seemingly EVERYONE you’d want to know about. Furthermore, every vendor I talked to was genuinely excited to learn that I was one of “Shelby’s brides”— and those *weren’t* just vendors from her preferred list! She is highly regarded in the local wedding scene, which gave me so much confidence leading up to my wedding. It’s hard to put a price on peace-of-mind, and I can honestly say I was cool as cucumber in the weeks leading up to the big day because I knew Shelby had it under control. Finally, this part of the review may be 2020/2021-specific, but Shelby was a lifesaver when the unthinkable happened and we were forced to postpone our wedding by a full year. Shelby was the first person to honestly tell me that a 2020 wedding could no longer happen. Of course that was hard to hear, but she went above and beyond to be a great source of comfort and support during that time. I think her insistence to reschedule early is what allowed me to keep all of my vendors and in my preferred date range. Of course we know now that it ended up being the RIGHT (and only!) decision. I honestly can’t imagine how we would have pulled it off without Shelby. I can confidently say that if/when any crisis comes up in your wedding planning (hopefully not another global pandemic for the future bride reading this!), you will be so glad you have Shelby on your team and managing your wedding affairs. In summary, Shelby’s services were ESSENTIAL for this indecisive, hands-off bride. But I would argue that she would be equally important for the very decisive, hands-on bride, too! Her practical knowledge of the Lexington wedding scene is unmatched and I know she can execute any wedding vision you may have!

Experiencia fantástica: I can't rave enough about this company & Shelby! I personally used her service for all my floral arrangements. Everything turned out amazing & I absolutely loved by bouquet. She was extremely professional and easy to communicate with. I especially loved the way she organized everything! For instance, the floral designs, types of flowers & prices were laid out in a very detailed pdf which included pictures.

She delivered my bouquets to me so I could have them while getting ready and not have to send anyone to go pick them up from the venue. She went above and beyond to give us a stress free wedding, and we could not have had anyone better. We hired Shelby to take on the wedding planning about 6 weeks our from our event, and she was on top of every detail from the get go. She helped coordinate all of our vendors, our timelines, and floorplans. She was super helpful the week of our wedding when our rehearsal dinner was cancelled and rescheduled to a different venue last minute. She ran a smooth walkthrough with our giant bridal party, and made sure we were in great shape for the bid day. Shelby was ready to roll on wedding day, and did not stand still for longer than 5 seconds. She went above and beyond with helping to set up our event and worked closely with all of our vendors. She made the dress totally stress free and beautiful. All of our guests said it was the most seamless event they had ever been to, and credit was hugely due to Shelby.

When we initially met with Shelby, we were planning on a traditional wedding in Kentucky so we started working on hiring vendors, creating ceremony plans, etc. However, a year or so into our engagement, my fiancé and I changed our minds and decided that we wanted to have an intimate wedding in Florida - the place where we got engaged. Shelby was so excited and not only supported us, but immediately started helping us plan to turn our newfound vision into a reality. Shelby came to Florida to make sure each and every detail was taken care of. She planned our welcome party, all of our wedding day, reception, and next morning brunch. She had so many creative ideas and added touches that made our small wedding so special for our guests. Not to mention the flowers… she created a flower ground arch for our ceremony, boutonnieres for each of our guests, a flower collar for our dog, countless centerpieces, garlands, etc. Shelby planned and created a big day that was not only above and beyond perfect for my fiancé and I, but that was a special, one of a kind experience for each and every one of our guests. After our ceremony in Florida, we decided to keep the original Kentucky plans and transition them from a wedding to a big reception at Keene Place. Talk about the prettiest party ever…. Shelby blew us away. From string lights, a boxwood wall of champagne glasses, a custom wall to hold Makers Mark favors and popcorn for our guests, wooden favor tags in the shape of Kentucky with each of our guest’s names on them, and the most insane Kentucky shaped flower chandelier. We wanted a quintessential Kentucky party and Shelby went above and beyond. Our guests went on and on about how beautiful everything was and they were so impressed with her work. We even decided last minute to have a “Welcome to Lexington” reception at a restaurant the night before our reception and Shelby sprung into action and worked tirelessly all day (in the pouring rain) to transform the restaurant’s patio into a beautiful space. Throughout our 2-year engagement, nearly everything changed – our venue, our ceremony plan, our photographers, our reception plan, and so much more. However, Shelby was our one unwavering “constant” that remained through everything and our big day(s) would not have happened without her. As a bride, I had complete confidence in Shelby and she provided me the opportunity to really enjoy myself and not have to worry about the thousands of details that she made sure were taken care of. She was an absolute joy to work with and she somehow made 2 years of planning really fun. The peace of mind she gave me was priceless. Her creativity, professionalism, responsiveness, organization, and passion for what she does cannot be matched and I cannot recommend her enough.

Experiencia fantástica: If we could afford it, we would’ve brought all of our guests to Maui where we got engaged. With Shelby’s vision, organization, and creativity she brought Maui to our guests! She really listened to our needs and helped our vision come to fruition. She paid great attention to all the little details from the beautiful pineapple boutonnieres to the tropical cake table with woven plant installation above, to the vibrantly crafted bouquets and table layout. She really has an eye for design. She made the impossible possible. While in Maui, we visited a vineyard that produced a very good sparkling rose. We wanted to have it shipped to Kentucky for a wedding toast, but laws here prohibited shipment. Shelby had it shipped to Ohio. Despite problems with shipping, Shelby still managed to get it to our reception. It was one of the many magical moments our guests really appreciated. Shelby has a great rapport with all of the vendors we worked with. She had many options for us to choose from in regards to photographers, wedding venues, caterers, DJ’s, and etc. I felt like we had extra care taken with our wedding due to her connections. Shelby is very organized and punctual. She was always quick to respond via various methods (email, text, phone) when needed. I work full-time at a very busy clinic and couldn’t always respond via phone or email. She was very flexible and worked with my schedule. Shelby setup meetings for me with cake decorators and food caterers. She really was a guiding light in a process that can be very confusing and overwhelming. I felt at ease with Shelby, and that I could be honest if I did or did not like any aspect of the wedding being planned. I felt that her prices were very reasonable for the high quality service provided. Shelby’s time-lines were impeccable. We stayed on time for every aspect of the wedding day. I can honestly say that everything went very smoothly on my wedding day. It was pure bliss! Not a single thing went awry. My husband and I had a beautiful day, and all of our guests genuinely enjoyed themselves. Shelby is the total package!

Experiencia negativa: Hired this company in February 2018 as my wedding planners, was supposed to have a monthly meeting with my "planner" met with them once in March. Haven't heard from them again until last night when my planner after two months of my trying to reach her, informed me that she no longer works for the company. Have received NO phone calls, emails, or text messages from the company (White Cat Weddings) in regards to this person no longer working for them, nor have I had any contact in terms of who is now working as my planner. They gladly accepted my money though, I am absolutely appalled at the complete lack of professionalism for the money that I am paying their company to "help" plan my wedding. I have tried calling their company to get answers and have, as of yet, still received absolutely NO response. I DO NOT recommend that you hire this company they are completely unprofessional and will take your money and disappear. In fact, if they had the option of negative stars for reviews they would get the lowest possible rating possible from me.
