Fantastic experience: A BRIDE’S DREAM TEAM!!!! I had the privilege of working with both Latrice and Julia for my wedding and I was blown away from the experience from start to finish. I started my wedding planning journey with Latrice who is truly a ray of sunshine and so disarming and approachable. She made us feel like family, not clients, and worked with us for as long as she could while being an expecting mother. We had received some unexpected news from our original venue, which caused us to pivot our wedding venue and date last minute, and Latrice helped us pivot everything with the utmost professionalism and calmness - which kept us (specifically me, as the bride) calm and positive through the whole experience. These are the moments when having planners like Blue Water are LIFE SAVING. When Latrice went on maternity leave, we had the blessing of working with Julia too. Julia’s energy was exactly what I needed as a bride so close to my wedding date - she’s calm, confident , and gets it DONE. One thing I want to say about Julia is that she protects her brides at all costs and has your back. When she learned my preferences and vision, she went to bat for me and ensured that my comfort and vision were top priorities for EVERYONE involved. I felt so taken care of and trusted her tremendously. Because of both Latrice’s planning on the front end and Julia’s execution, my wedding day was actually perfect - like quite literally, not a SINGLE hiccup (which I am forever grateful for). I received so many compliments from my guests about how well-executed and smooth our wedding was from start to finish, which meant the world to hear. Also, Julia’s assistants who were present on my wedding day were SO amazing. They were on top of everything and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything was perfect. I truly didn’t have a single worry on my wedding day because Julia and her team were so organized, attentive, and seasoned in what they do. Julia and Latrice made the entire wedding day and journey leading up to it feel like more than a wedding - it was a year of special memories and relationships that felt like family. Julia and Latrice both know how much I love them and how I’m eternally grateful to them for gifting me a wedding day that was beyond my dreams. Choosing them allowed me to wholeheartedly enjoy my bridal season and wedding day. I cannot recommend them enough if you are a bride (or groom) who are like me and want everything to be picture-perfect but without stressing yourself out. As a Wedding and Event DJ&MC based in South Florida covering the Palm Beaches, Broward, Miami, and the Florida Keys, I've worked with many planners. This particular planning team including Julia, Becky, Latrice, and others are very organized and communicative with the vendor team like myself ensuring that everything runs smoothly. They even provide customized timelines for the individual vendors on the vendor team. I'm very organized and thorough myself (often getting mentions from others on my reviews for this), so I truly admire and respect Blue Water for their excellence in this regard. Event leadership, while seldom mentioned, is super important in creating the good times!! They're also really nice people who care about you and the success of your wedding or event. For these reasons, I highly recommend them!!!

Fantastic experience: We chose to work with Latrice Erickson after a brief call and recommendation from the venue we were considering and knew quickly that she was a perfect fit. She was organized and professional, while making us feel like close friends after only an hour together. There was not a moment in our year of planning our destination wedding from hours away that we doubted her capabilities to execute our elaborate, ever changing and unique vision for our four days of wedding events. She came to every call completely prepared, had dozens of local contacts to maximize our budget while never compromising quality and was able to navigate every thing we threw her way. With two brides and 18 bridesmaids, we knew that our wedding planner had to be 11/10 and she was completely up for the challenge. Fantastic experience: If I could give Latrice a million stars for this review, I would. She went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was everything I dreamed it would be. The monthly meetings made the planning more manageable and not so overwhelming. The planning software Blue Water Weddings provided kept me on task and organized throughout the planning process. I didn't worry about a thing the week of our wedding, the second we landed in Florida she was checking in every few hours and helped with anything we needed. When we walked into our event space, my husband and our guests were blown away. It was so rewarding to see all our hard work come together and it came together because I had Latrice with Blue Water Weddings. They have great relationships with all of the vendors in the Florida Keys and even the vendors will tell you how amazing they are to work with. We had the wedding of our dreams and I couldn't be happier, the only thing I am sad about is not having my monthly calls with Latrice, I'm going to miss her. Fantastic experience: I'm not sure if words will do justice to what an incredible job Blue Water Weddings, and especially Becky, did for my wife and I for our wedding. But I will give it a try. From the first time we met Becky, it was clear that she had a passion for her work and an impressive attention to detail. Our wedding was in the Keys and my wife had mapped her vision in extensive detail. And Becky went above and beyond to make sure every little part of her vision was brought life. We booked her for month of services, but she was always available to help. Whether it was to discuss vendors or give ideas, it never seemed to be a bother. She maintained such a positive attitude during the months leading up to the wedding and encouraged us to bring any new ideas to her. On the day of wedding, she was the embodiment of professionalism and calm. While at the same time, balancing so many vendors and family that were all part of the getting ready process. It was the most nerve-wracking day of my wife's life, and Becky proved to be the voice of reason and the cheerleader that she needed. When my wife got anxious, Becky always had the perfect words to say. She was also always when and where we needed her, whether it was to direct or to offer a warm smile. Throughout the ceremony and reception, she executed the plan flawlessly and ensured that everything was absolutely perfect. She even managed to gather all of our guests, fresh off of 4 hours of open bar, to do a bubble exit for amazing photo opportunities. I would highly recommend Blue Water Weddings and Becky in particular to be your wedding planner. She is an excellent person and an expert at ensuring that your big day is a storybook wedding.

Fantastic experience: If you are in need of a wedding planner, Julia is the bes! We had our daughters’s wedding on February 24, 2024 at the oasis in Islamorada Julia is very familiar with this venue and therefore she was able to guide us every step of the way of and how it would look We expected it to be beautiful, but it exceeded our expectations. Julia had so many great ideas at the last minute to make things so cute and memorable. Half of our guests were from the UK and they had the best time! We had dinner drinks on Friday night, the wedding on Saturday and a recovery day on Sunday. Everything was fantastic. I didn’t have to lift a finger and my husband and I enjoyed it more than anyone probably!! Thank you, Julia for making such great memories for our daughter and son-in-law, friends and family from far wide. It truly was a magical weekend.

Fantastic experience: Grace Gustinis at Blue Water Weddings made our wedding so fun and easy to plan over the course of the year she worked with us to make our dream wedding come true. Grace was sweet, knowledgable and organized throughout the entire planning experience. On the day of our wedding Grace was a true SUPER HERO because a tropical storm hit and everything was planned to be outside. The storm was so bad even our tent couldn't keep out the rain. She quickly got us walls for the tent to allow us to still keep our ceremony outside and came up with a game plan in coordination with all the vendors to move the rest of the events inside while still giving the wedding a multi-location feel within the resort property. Fantastic experience: THE BEST EVER! My husband and I got married in Key Largo in October and were lucky enough to work with the AMAZING Latrice. She went above and beyond to make sure our weekend was absolutely perfect. She was extremely organized, thoughtful, and communicative throughout the entire process. Fantastic experience: I never dreamed about the details of my wedding, or fussed over how it would be - my dream was to just have good food, good music, a great time with my friends, and a happy celebration for a partnership that will last a lifetime. After I started wedding planning, I discovered that even the simplest of plans are super complicated come wedding time and I had no idea how insane it would be - all the things and tiny details that I would need to consider (when I was finishing up my PhD, and wanted to dedicate 0 mental energy to literally anything else). It seemed like chaos and I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown. UNTIL I MET LATRICE!!! Latrice literally was my savior, a firehouse of ORGANIZATION, PLANNING, MANAGERIAL SKILLS, CHECKING IN, and everything I never knew I needed in a wedding planner!! Holy cow! She managed to work well with both me (who didn't care about details, like make it BYOB) and my mother (who did care about details, and thought wine should be chilled while I could care less). She was always thoughtful, great at managing people's emotions, and always lifted up the mood. I remember starting a Zoom meeting with (our wedding was in Key Largo but we were in California) her at least 5-6 times, feeling like a total wreck about how little I had prepared, and she always succeeded in elevating my spirits and giving great suggestions on how to move forward. She was always patient with me (for example, I'm writing this review about 4 months after). Also, her recommendations were BOMB - for example, she recommended Yolanda Hill for our wedding photographer who was fantastic! Literally, everything I never knew I needed in a wedding planner. Thanks to Latrice, everything came together, and my husband and I had the best day of our lives (so far... but it will be hard to beat!). I really realized on the wedding day that everything was out of my hands and in hers. I cannot emphasize how fantastic she is enough. I'm on a plane so I can't attach too many photos, but here are a few.

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with Latrice from the very beginning. We hired her for our small intimate wedding in Islamorada as a day of coordinator. She went above and beyond every expectation I had for a “day of” coordinator. She did everything that was asked of her and then some. We had A LOT of communication issues with our venue leading up to the day of that were really stressing me out. The only reason I didn’t pull out of our venue contract is because I fully trusted her to bring my vision to life and that the day would go off with out a hitch. She was on top of everything. I was pretty organized but there definitely would have been some things missed and she was there to remind me. She was professional and so easy to work with. Fantastic experience: Mary was the best wedding planner we could have asked for in the Florida keys! She was extremely detailed and so helpful. Mary answered all of our questions and really helped calm any nerves. Mary even went the extra mile and helped take care of our Grandpa with his wheelchair. Mary gave us a ton of different ideas and options as well that worked with our venue! Our rehearsal and dinner was also amazing because of Mary! Everything was so planned out and organized. Fantastic experience: It was really fun and pleasure to work with Latrice. I was planning my destination wedding to Key Largo remotely only in 2weeks. There were a lot of hassle and I did not know much about what to do. But she guided me, helped me, educated me a lot. She took care of tons of my packages which were too big/fragile to bring all the way from NYC. I was in high stress but she dealt with me very nicely and helped me very well. Overall, it was amazing to work with her. Fantastic experience: Julia and the Blue Water Weddings team was a pleasure to work with throughout our planning experience! We interviewed several wedding planners and chose BWW because of their organization and experience working with Pierre's, where we had our wedding. We worked together for a year and half to plan the destination wedding of our reams, and Julia truly brought our vision to life. In addition to our wedding, she helped plan our rehearsal dinner and welcome party (for an additional fee) which was insanely helpful. I am based in Washington, DC so it was important for me to have someone local who knew the ins and outs. Julia guided us throughout the process and recommended top-notch vendors for us to work with. She provided honest advice and helped us select the perfect team. She was also always open to hearing my (sometimes crazy) ideas and exploring new vendors. It was clear to us that Julia is well respected by her peers and fellow vendors in the Florida Keys community. On our wedding weekend Julia and her team made sure everything went flawlessly and I would not change a thing! Fantastic experience: I recently worked with Julia and her team for my wedding in Islamorada a few months ago and they were amazing! I found Blue Water Weddings through the preferred venders list at Pierre’s where we held our wedding and after looking at their website, reviews, and meeting Julia, I knew they were the perfect fit! Julia was absolutely amazing throughout the whole planning process. She had a list of amazing vendors to work with and knew exactly who would work best for my vision. She set up all appointments and was very organized and thorough. Every crazy idea that I had, Julia was there to make it come to life! The day of, Julia had everything lined up perfectly where I didn’t have to worry about anything except enjoy the best day ever! I highly recommend Blue Water Weddings for any bride! I lived 3 hours away from the Keys and made the planning process and my big day absolutely perfect! Thank you Blue Water!

Negative experience: Couldn’t be more disappointed with the services I received from Mary. After our initial intake meeting until the day of my wedding, communication was extremely lapsed. I regularly reached out via text, call, and email with no response for weeks at a time. Even month(s) at one point. I addressed my disappoint with the lack of communication and her response was she and her fiancé had been busy with their personal catering company. Next, the cake tasting was a disaster. I was supposed to receive the tasting via fedex 2 day shipping and didn’t receive until one month later. Per Mary, the vendor didn’t respond until a week after the tasting was supposed t due to a family em I addressed this directly with the vendor, thad no recollection of a family emergency. The florals were the complete opposite of what I wanted. I attached photos and verbally communicated what I wanted for the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, arch, and table runners. Mary communicated the literal opposite of what I wanted and the florals I specifically said I didn’t want (palm leaves) were the primary floral used. I spoke with the florist to confirm what happened and she sent emails of Mary telling her not to do the arch I wanted because it was out of budget. Never didn’t Mary communicate this or even ask me what I wanted to do. We were $11,000 over budget and Mary never discussed that with me once. I would’ve been more than okay paying for the arch I wanted. My ceremony exit was ruined. Mary didn’t communicate with the guests when you throw the rose petals and I didn’t get a single photograph of our exit. I have a gluten allergy and notified Mary of this as soon as the caterer was selected. We chose a seafood tower primarily because we love seafood and it would be easy to accommodate my allergy. When my husband and I had a moment to ourselves to eat the selections from the seafood tower, I confirmed with Mary everything was confirmed gluten free. I surely didn’t want to get sick on my wedding night. Marys response was “oh probably not I wouldn’t eat that”, showing she never communicated or confirmed what could and couldn’t be accommodated. So it’s not surprise that when dinner was served, I received a salad with croutons on it. In addition, our printed menus stated “rice” as a side and we had mashed potatoes. The menus were shipped directly to Mary and I didn’t lay eyes on them until we sat down at the sweetheart table. Mary either didn’t notice this either or didn’t do anything to fix them. I reached out to Julia, the owner of Blue Water Weddings and expressed my disappointment. She apologized on Mary’s behalf and refunded a very small amount for the florals. After speaking with multiple friends and vendors in the wedding industry, they’ve all advised me this is not acceptable and some even advised to seek an attorney. The services we paid for we absolutely did not receive. There are many other minor details that when combined with the ones I listed, leave me to be completed distraught about every single aspect of my wedding - something no bride should ever have to feel. I hope this enlightens every future bride when making the decision to book with Mary to think twice. If I knew what I know now, I would’ve chosen differently.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish, Julia was an absolute dream to work with. Leading up to the wedding, everyone asked me. "Do you feel prepared? How stressed out are you?". To be honest, I was hardly stressed about anything and owed this all to Julia and her preparedness. She helped connect us with vendors we clicked easily with, were on top of details, and asked all the right questions to ensure we had the wedding of our dreams! Julia thought of things we never would have and when the big weekend arrived, I was able to focus on our guests, family, and most importantly enjoying the best day of my life with my amazing husband. Fantastic experience: Where do I begin... We had Mary as our wedding coordinator and she was absolutely amazing. I fought having a planner at all because I used to do it for a living and I am a major control freak lol the only reason I hired one is because my venue made me. I am SO happy I hired one and even more happy that I got Mary. This girl is so great. She was juggling a million different things going on with all of the COVID wedding reschedules and regular bookings. She always made time for me and was great at communicating. You could really tell how much she cared and she helped SO much! At one point, she literally took off her shoes, hurdled a bush, and sprinted to and from my room to get the wedding bands! She went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend her. She was super sweet, personable, professional, and great at her job. Fantastic experience: I recently worked with Julia and her team at Blue Water Weddings for our wedding in Islamorada last month, and the experience was amazing. Being that I've been a bridesmaid in 7 weddings throughout my life, I was very clear that working with a planner was necessary to my peace of mind as a bride. We are so glad that we went with Julia because she anticipated any problem or logistic that might arise and was ready to handle it; of course, there were not any problems because we had Blue Water doing its thing from the very beginning. I hired them for their full planning and design services and do not regret it at all. Literally, I did not have to worry about anything with the budget because they had it all under control at all times. She only gave me choices for things that would fit in the budget without making me feel like I was skimming down or having to say no to something. As a designer, Julia has a real gift of getting what a bride's personality is from the start. She connected us with awesome caterers and florists to really pull off a colorful, eclectic, elegant wedding in the Keys. She even came to do in person meetings with me to go over design and details that were important. Those were the most fun! A highlight of mine and everyone else's was that my groom came into the ceremony by boat! Our venue had a marina and she saw this possibility for him and our ring bearer and best man to come in on our vintage Shamrock. It was a hit! We have great footage and will never forget that. Even last minute things that I saw on Pinterest, like a special seating chart, she and her team were able to do for me so that my day was awesome. If there were any issues with anything the day of the wedding, I did not even know because she was very calming and made sure that I enjoyed the day. Thank you Blue Water!

There is no way I could have planned a destination wedding in a month without her. She was able to do everything I wanted within my limited budget, which was amazing. Negative experience: They did my best friend’s wedding this year and were completely unprofessional to the bride and groom. They did pull off an incredibly beautiful and picture-perfect event, but nearly ruined the experience for the happy couple by being so unorganized. I had to tell Julia the night before the wedding that she had the wrong address for the wedding venue on their wedding website... and it was a nightmare to get everyone there on time. Thousands of dollars were spent on transportation for the wedding and none of the pick up or drop off times were shared with the guests to use it. Such a waste of money and inconvenient for the guests of the wedding. As the maid of honor, I picked up all the pieces that the planners didn’t care to fix (flowers delivered in the wrong spot, no food planned for the bride or bridal party, wrong locations and room numbers listed on everything, schedule of wedding not shared until late the night before, calling the bride to yell at her the morning of her wedding day because a bridesmaid wasn’t “on schedule” but was given the wrong schedule from the planner). The most frustrating piece was that none of the payments were organized ahead of time and the groom had to spend the entire morning of the wedding day calling banks and paying bills. They absolutely hated her. They will make a wedding beautiful for a fortune, but at what emotional expense?

Fantastic experience: My son’s January wedding weekend in the Keys was out of a movie. Every detail was perfect, and there were many details over 4 days! Mid way through the planning Julia told me she would never allow anything to be less than exceptional. She was right, I only wish I understood this day one. It is nerve racking to be a mother especially at a distance. Julia’s attention to detail, calm demeanor, decisiveness, vision, resourcefulness made everything work seamlessly. She even timed the bride and groom to arrive by boat exactly as the sun was setting, which impressed everyone. In fact, the timing for the entire wedding day was skillfully organized beginning from the 8:00 am makeup start to the last bus pick up from the after party at 1am. With Julia, there were never any problems, only solutions. Even with last minute requests and emergencies she managed to sort everything out. Julia considered every detail. She maintained us on a schedule throughout which addressed everyone’s responsibilities even those remotely associated to her. She made the adventure much easier. On the wedding day The Blue-Water Wedding Team was extremely professional and totally hands on, in the most discrete way. As a final note, an immensely pleasant surprise was Julia’s colleague, Dene, who designed all the menu cards, posters and welcome items. Dene produced the most stunning products. Had I known before I would have asked Dene to prepare the wedding invitations. After the wedding, I had Dene make all my family stationery. Thank you Julia and Dene and their team for providing us such beautiful memories.

Fantastic experience: We could not have been happier to have Julia by our side throughout the entire wedding planning process! We thought that being out of state would be difficult but Julia made the process stress free by face-timing us multiple times to select our venue (twice due to Irma) and doing a visual walk through of our resort and being available all of the time throughout the year leading up to the wedding. She is extremely organized and helped plan our entire wedding weekend from Rehearsal dinner, to selecting food and alcohol at the resort and assisting in hiring helpers throughout the weekend to make everything easy for us and our guests. Negative experience: My wife and I went to Julia (Blue Water Weddings) about 1.5 years prior to the actual wedding. Julia was nice at first, and gave us a good deal on an entire package of planning and day of coordination. Then the nightmare began. When the wedding planning was getting into full swing, Julia was nowhere to be found. Simple emails to Julia often took days to be acknowledged. About 2 months prior to the actual wedding, when Julia was semi-involved, she sent an email saying she had lost our contract and demanded more money than was originally agreed to, for her to do the day of coordination. Being on a tight budget, we were obviously taken aback by this. Despite having emails from Julia as to the price, she refused to honor it and instead said she would only be able to do part of the day of coordination. Not surprisingly, approximately 7-10 days before the wedding, Julia emails us and tells us she will not be able to coordinate the day of, and instead will be sending an assistant. Really? She was completely unprofessional and unhelpful. Luckily, we were able to find an amazing replacement who did an amazing job coordinating the day of. Good Riddance to Julia and Blue Water Weddings. I would not recommend her to my enemy.
